Six date ideas for when you need to escape wedding planning

Updated: Sep 21, 2019

Wedding planning is fun and exciting. But it can also be tiring and stressful, and sometimes it can feel like it's taking over your whole life. So, my advice - take some time off.

Date nights can be a lovely way of taking a break from planning and spending some quality time together

Switch your phones off for a night and forget about wedding talk. Take the time to enjoy each others company and remind yourself of all the reasons you're marrying each other in the first place.

Go somewhere you can let your competitive sides loose and laugh your socks off! Crazy golf, bowling, the arcade, paintball, the options are endless. Whatever takes your fancy, just have fun!

A date where I can eat is my kind of date. Me and my James love to go out for tapas or blast some tunes while we cook and dance around the kitchen. There's something about food that brings people together so go stuff your faces! Or go on a pub crawl to all your favourite places.

Treat yourselves to some well earned relaxation. Head to the spa - chill in the pool, the sauna or get a couples massage. Wedding planning is stressful, don't feel guilty for taking time off and enjoying yourself.

Sometimes when you need to clear your head the best thing to do is get some fresh air. Every couple has favourite spots whether it's the park, the beach or the forrest. Pack a picnic, grab a coffee and go for a wander! We love going anywhere that's near water, we'll sit there for hours and just listen to the sound it makes.

Me and James are partial to a good bord game (although James will throw the board across the room if he's loosing haha!) Take a trip back to your chldhood and grab your favourite board game. If you haven't got any lying around theres loads of board game cafes these days - the perfect way to spend and afternoon...losers turn to cook?

Go somewhere new. Visit a city you've never been to before or find a quirky hidden away little village. No matter where you go, just go and expore together.

What else do you like to do for date nights?
