Have you ever thought about eloping? Traditionally, elopements are spur of the moment decisions where you run off to god knows where and get married in complete secret. But over the last year that meaning has shifted.
These days ‘elopement’ has taken on a slightly different meaning, from what I’ve seen with my couples anyway. Last year I loved getting to photograph Liverpool elopements, and each of them stretched the traditional meaning of the word. Some were secret, some were not. Some were organised months in advance, some were not. Sometimes the bride wore white, some times she didn’t. Sometimes there was just two witnesses, sometimes there was a handful of friends. But all of my couples who eloped, lived and got married in Liverpool.
Eloping doesn’t mean you have to run off to another city or country. If Liverpool is your home an is the place you want to marry, then go for it!
Inspiration for eloping in Liverpool
I’m lucky enough to know other amazing Liverpool wedding suppliers who share the same love of elopements. We got together and wanted to showcase all the fun that you can have with an elopement - that you don’t have to choose between a wedding with just the two of you and amazing details.
I love this styled shoot for so many reasons - the gorgeous copper smokey eye by Glamorama Makeup; the fun birdcage veils from Coco B designs; the white and gold inspired bouquet by Lula Flower shop. And the amazing range of bridal separates from Flamingo Boulevard Bridal Salon. And I managed to sneak in some leopard print - so of course it’s got me written all over it!
Can we take a minute to look at how amazing this hand painted leather jacket is?! Jazmin from Flamingo Boulevard Bridal salon created it specifically for the shoot and I love it! So much so, that she's making one for me - covered in leopard print of course!
Elopements can be whatever you want them to be, and they can take place for so many different reasons. Don’t feel guilty if you would prefer a day to yourself rather that a huge party with everyone you know. Your wedding day should be whatever you want it to be.
We also had the pleasure of this shoot being featured over on Adored Bride!
